Kingsleigh International School
was officially established on September 30, 2003 as an accredited private
educational and training institution.
The simple idea of combining the Canadian and American Practical
Nursing program standards of skills and clinical expectations established
Kingsleigh International School as the prioneer of International Practical
Nursing program in the Philippines. Practical Nursing program was chosen
in response to the current healthcare trend related to nursing shortage
and the
global demand for highly skilled nursing professionals. As one of the
co-founder, a Registered Nurse with specialty in critical care nursing,
an educator
and entrepreneur;
Nel Pena embark on developing Practical Nursing program enlisting
the services of different nursing specialties abroad and fellow Canadian
colleagues to help design Kingsleigh’s international practical nursing
curriculum
to be
administered
in
the Philippines.
The quality of Kingsleigh’s practical nursing program was strengthen
and proven by our graduates successfully passing the board examination
for practical nurses (NCLEX-PN) given by different states in United
States of America. The same “program quality” also created an opportunity
to some of our
practical nursing graduates to passed the Canadian Practical
Nurses Registration Exam (CPNRE) given by the province of Alberta and
Manitoba, Canada.
On October 2008, Kingsleigh International School received its long awaited
approval to become a College Institution. A status that will
enable Kingsleigh International School and Colleges to expand and
offer
different
degree programs at a tertiary level, as well as an opportunity
to expand in the areas of secondary, primary and preparatory
education. Kingsleigh's newly acquired status is in keeping with it's
fundamental objective of growth and expansion to move
forward as a prestigious College Institution with
a
strong sense
of self,
a resounding
Christian
spirit and a deep commitment to its purpose.
